Jomo & Jes are getting experimental this Saturday at @thefaroutaustin. Load up the minivan and meet us there!

This event is a celebration of the amazing Patton Elementary School - and features lots of music and talent from Patton families. Things kick off at noon with vendors, face painting, games, and live music (we may or may not bust out a drum machine). It's free, so leave your excuses at home and come on. 🎉

Jomo and Jes were invited by @thetruckstudio to record a couple of tunes to their 80+ year old vinyl lathe. The studio is literally in a box truck and that’s already pretty cool, but being part of the process of cutting the record was an incredible experience. There is only one physical copy at the moment but stay tuned and these stripped down recordings may eventually end up in your ears as well as your hearts 🫶 (like all of your separate hearts, not implying any of you have multiple hearts. That would be weird. But like no judgement if you do that’s chill! Arrgggggh!)

Several people have asked me about the "Seen Whatchu Done" video, so I thought I'd share a little A/B comparison of the main footage and the finished video.

I shot this in on my phone while walking through an airport (can you tell which one?). It's 2 clips and since they weren't long enough for what I needed, I reversed them and ran them backward around halfway through the video.

Obviously, there are a lot of overlays (public domain footage, other shots from the airplane, shots of us playing guitars) rotation, and layers, but the main effect is just quadrupling the video and mirroring for a sort of kaleidoscope effect.

You can find the full length music video on our YT channel. Thinking of doing a deep dive into the whole video on YouTube if there's interest (or maybe even if there's not). I've always loved editing video and working within constraints (limited budget, equipment, etc).
